Hey everybody! After a whole bunch of non-animation vlog posts (1 birthday vlog, and 3 Japan vlogs! To be fair though, the Japan vlogs were somewhat animation-related XD) I’m back with a fun speed animation of a thank you eCard I made for Hallmark eCards!!!
If you’d like to watch the full animation first, go ahead and click here!
In this vlog I’ll show you a timelapse of the most adorable little doggy running around happily. I’ll also be sharing with you a few tricks I like to do when animating.
The dog’s design is partly inspired by corgis, my dream dog ❤️ (lowkey this was the perfect excuse to look at corgi pictures for research purposes haha).
dog run cycle
The story is very simple…a dog runs around before letting out a humongous “THANK YOUUU” howl, waking up the neighbors, the moon, some sleepy stars, and a planet.
The placement of the windows was a bit of a challenge. If I had drawn the windows on buildings, the dog and people would then have to be very small in relation to these buildings. Also it would mean that the camera would have a very long pan upward in order to show the stars and planet.
Inspired by the intro of Monsters, Inc., I went a bit more abstract with the layout, with the windows starting out as seemingly random patterns in the background before they light up.
It may not seem like a big number for some, but I am very grateful for each and every one of my 448 (as of this writing) subscribers! It’s definitely an achievement worth celebrating 🎉
If you’re one of my subscribers, or you’ve read through this post and even watched the vlog, then I just wanna say…
Now Your Turn!
